The session was quite well attended. There were 16 club members there. If you are at all interested in judging beer, taking the BJCP exam, or learning more about the technical aspects of brewing, please consider coming to the next session, which will be led by Deron Weet on October 6 and will feature BJCP Category 15, German Wheat and Rye.

Ok, the time has come to bring in those Spring Brew Off Cacao Nibbed Beers to the July Meeting. Let’s plan to have to have 12 bottles of each beer so that the whole group is able to taste the different beers. I am not sure if there will be a “competition” or not. Afterwards I would like to open up the discussion to all to see what was learned from this ingredient and how it works or does not work with different beer styles, brewing techniques, and with other brewing ingredients.

Thanks Tom Ocque

No, I’m not Mr. Obama, but I hope I still have some change you all can believe in.

I’m pretty stoked to have been elected as President of our fine club. I very much look forward to making this a stellar year for all of you. I have a couple ideas that I would like to see carried through in the next 12 months that I feel will great assets to group events and the general camaraderie of us all.

Above all, I want to extend the floor to all of YOU. This is, after all YOUR club, and your voices should be heard. Let us know what you things you have liked that you want to see stick around. Do you have a suggestion for tweaking an event or activity to make it better? Is there something we have not been doing as a group that you would like to see happen? Let us know your ideas and, where possible, we will fit them in as best we can.

Cheers, brew well, and be happy and safe. We will see you all at the July meeting!

Jeremy
